Overview

Kenya Network of Women with AIDS (KENWA) is a grassroots community-based organization founded in 1993 by women living with HIV/AIDS who had been rejected by their families due to their HIV status. Initially serving as a support group for experience sharing and consolation, KENWA gained NGO status in 1998 with a membership of 32 HIV-positive women. As of now, the organization has a membership of over 10,000 women living with HIV/AIDS and over 5,000 orphaned and vulnerable children
